Unbelievable versus believable

01 APR 2016

It is of course April Fools’ Day or All Fools’ Day today, and many people across the world today will be upholding the April Fools traditions So have you had a prank or a joke played on you yet? Or how many of you have already recited the rhyme “Pinch, Punch the first of the month and no returns” or even used the expression “white rabbits” to get in there first?

 My thought for today is this; If I had said to all you football lovers out there “Leicester City to win the Premiership” on this day last year, you all probably would have thought it to be an April Fools! However, as we look at things on this day, then that statement although somewhat unbelievable then is very believable now!! Never pass over the unbelievable as unachievable as that often is how things have been achieved. Who would have believed in days gone by that mankind would have reached space or climbed Mount Everest, and yet it is now a regular occurrence in life to hear of these achievements.

 In our work our clients have to believe that they can achieve those things that they may see as unbelievable or unachievable. It is our privilege as staff members on a daily basis to provide clients with what they may need emotionally, spiritually or physically to make those things believable and achievable.

 A couple of quotes for today to muse upon from Albert Einstein;

 “Any fool can know, the point is to understand.”

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."

I would therefore finally say that if you are going to be a fool today, then it is a good day to do it, you won’t be alone, and it is the one day you may get away with it! So, knowingly use that opportunity but understand why you are using it!!
